Apparently one out of four dogs and cats in America are obese. Seems like you could just feed them less right? And maybe let them run around a little. Well now a company in California is offering personal fitness training for your pets. They say that obese pets run a higher risk of developing similar diseases as humans, such as diabetes, heart disease, joint problems, and other medical conditions.

The Go Fetch! service sends a “pet personal trainer” to your house with the necessary taining equipment (frisbees, balls, etc) and they put your pet through a grueling regimen. They claim your pet will have rock hard abs in no time. I don’t think Shreveport or Bossier has any pet personal trainers yet, but I’m sure it’s around the corner. Here is some more info:

Your pet will still receive the routine feeding and cleanup, and your home will be cared for by our trained staff for all of our services. But now, under the ‘Go Fetch!’ initiative, our pet sitters will devote the remainder of their time exercising your pet using a personalized regime that will be created based on your pet’s age, ability, health condition, temperament, and preferences.

Whether you have a dog or a cat, you can be sure your pet will get the ‘run around’ with each visit. Our sitters come armed with sheer enthusiasm and are ready and ready to throw balls or frisbees, play with string or cat toys, or go for a brisk walk or run to provide your pets with a fun-filled daily workout.

You may choose to have a limited exercise period that comes standard with each of our pet care services, or purchase additional blocks of personalized exercise time for your pet.
