An Ohio woman has started a business that allows moms to work out and take care of their children at the same time. Angela Devaney, owner of ‘Mommy and Me,’ is a licensed practical nurse and personal trainer specializing in pre- and post-natal fitness. Devaney stated that “When I became a mom, I couldn’t figure out how to combine work, being a mother, and staying fit.” She started ‘Mommy and Me’ as a way for her to do all three.
‘Mommy and Me’ is holding a fitness 5K Run/Walk and a One Mile Run/Walk on Saturday in Mansfield, Ohio. Strollers are allowed at the event and babies and children are entered free and are encouraged to take part in the fun.
Cidi Wyen, 29, has been taking part in the classes with her children for a year. She started when she was 20 weeks pregnant with one of her sons. She stated that the classes allowed her to say in shape while going through pregnancy. She also said that her children mimick the exercises at home.
This sounds like an excellent idea for mothers and children alike. It would be great to get something like this going in the Shreveport-Bossier area.
